電工鋼硅鋼片1930~1967年主要是冷軋普通取向硅鋼（CGO）板的發(fā)展階段。1933年高斯采用兩次冷軋和退火方法制成沿軋向磁性高的3％Si鋼。1935年美國(guó)的Armco鋼鐵公司利用高斯 技術(shù)與Westinghouse公司合作開(kāi)始了冷軋取向硅鋼的生產(chǎn)。經(jīng)20年不斷發(fā)展，Armco公司于50年代中期完善成二次冷軋法晶粒取向硅鋼生產(chǎn)工藝，即Armco工藝，此后，Armco工藝長(zhǎng)期壟斷了世界冷軋取向硅鋼生產(chǎn)，普通取向硅鋼（CGO）產(chǎn)量約80％都是按照Armco 生產(chǎn)的。
